Attachment Feb Week #3

This week our kids discovered, with Robert and Katie, that it’s important to honor the people in charge of you. If you don’t and you dishonor them, it usually doesn’t end well. Often, people get hurt. Just ask King David’s son, Absalom. He rebels because he thinks he’d make a better king (2 Samuel 15:1-16a, 18:5-7, 15, 31-33).

His dad tried to protect him, but the natural consequences of showing dishonor led to a real tragedy. That’s why it’s best to “Honor those who are over you.”

Please take time this week to enjoy the attachments with your children and continue to grow with them!

May the Lord bless your time together,

Attachment Feb Week #2

Mia and I had a great time teaching your children more about Honor this week! This week we discovered that honor can be shown between friends. Our Bible story, introduced us to the current king, Saul, and his son, Jonathan. We looked at their two very different responses to David’s role in their lives and his rising popularity (1 Samuel 18:1-4 & 5-9). Our challenge this week is to Honor others more than ourselves.

Please take time this week to share the attachments with your little ones! Read 1 Samuel 18:1-4, 5-9 and ask them some questions! You may be surprised at all they know! =)

Have a great week!

Attachment Feb. Week #1   Attachment Feb. Parent Cue

This week Wayne and Karen started our kids on our new focus for the month of February, HONOR. They looked at how God choose the next king from an unexpected place (1 Samuel 16:1-13). They talked about how God doesn’t see as the world sees; He looks at the heart instead. Then our children were challenged to look for ways to “Honor those who are overlooked.” If you were not able to be with us this week we hope you can join us this coming Sunday! Until then here are our weekly attachments so you can learn along with your kids and help them continue to grow in wisdom about true HONOR.

Have a great week,

Attachment Jan #5

Thank you for coming and worshiping with us this Sunday! It was great to be back with the kids! We reviewed what they have learned this month about self control. We also talked about the things God wants us to fill our lives up with! Phil.4:8 Ask your little one to share their verse James 1:19 with you. They all did a great job today! Here is our weekly attachment to share with your child this week. Enjoy!

Attachment Jan #4

It was a great day at Redeemer! A great day of worship and a fun time of fellowship afterwards! Shelise and Mary Lou spent time today teaching our kids more about self control. That we can rely on God’s strength to know when to “stop”. That whether it’s bad things and even good things in our life, we need to know when to “stop.” I hope you will take time this week to enjoy the attachment with your little one. May the Lord use you in their life to continue to help them grow in Him!
God bless you in every way,

Koni Brewer

Sunday, January 15th

I hope you had a great weekend! For those of you who were able to come and worship at Redeemer today, I know your kids had a great time with Wayne and Karen! They were busy talking and learning about reckless words, why it is so important for us to have self control, and “select our words carefully!” Proverbs 12:18 Attached is a great tool for you to share with your children this week, to help them continue to learn, and to help you in spending time together with Jesus! Enjoy!

See you next week,
Koni Brewer

Redeemer Kids 1/8/2012

Thank you for joining us at Redeemer today! For those of you who could not be with us you were missed! We had a great time learning about self control and the strength we can find in God specifically when we are angry and things are not going as we would like! We roll played “The worst day ever” and experimented with responding the first time without self control and the second time with self control. The first time we had balloons flying all around the room and the second time, while still able to let off the “hot air” things did not get even crazier! =) I am sure your kids can explain it better than I =) Attached is some great material to help you and your children spend time with God this week! Enjoy!
